Early Saturday morning, a thug in Henderson, Kentucky went on the rampage, mowing down 160 crosses at a memorial site for those who paid the ultimate price for our country. He fled his disrespectful path of destruction, going back to the hole from which he emerged until cops caught up with him. However, he had a sickening reply for what happened.

As many people were planning their Memorial Day weekend with ways to pay respect for fallen soldiers who sacrificed themselves for our freedom, 27-year-old Anthony Burrus was doing just the opposite. Before he made his way down to the park, a group of patriots put out hundred of crosses to recognize each deceased military member from their town. Hours later, they would return to a devastating scene after Burrus allegedly got to it.

According to The Henderson Gleaner, the hoodrat has been accused of driving his car through the park, plowing down the display and knocking over at least 160 crosses and completely obliterating 20 of those in an overt show of hatred for our military. Burrus essentially spit on the graves of those who fought for him, and he expected to get away with it. He ditched his car at an area McDonald’s and took off into hiding, as volunteers went back to the site to restore what he’s accused of destroying.

“For somebody to do this to a veteran who gave his life, I don’t understand. I don’t have any words. I’m speechless,” American Legion member Jim Hanley told the newspaper. Each cross had a soldier’s name on it and an American flag next to it, to not forget those who were lost serving our country.

Cops tracked down the disgusting suspect, after finding his 1979 Ford Thunderbird used in the vandalism, and were particularly disturbed by what was found in the tires. After tracing vehicle back to Burrus, they asked him about his car and involvement in the destruction. He completely denied, claiming he had only left his car at McDonald’s after it stopped running. However, the proof was in the wheel well.

News Channel 10 reported that chunks of the obliterated crosses were still embedded in the tires, along with stakes from it sticking out from under the car. Burrus could run, but he couldn’t hide from the evidence that was all over his four-wheel weapon. He was arrested and is being charged with first-degree criminal mischief and leaving the scene of an accident. In my opinion, that’s not enough since the punishment from that is merely a slap on the wrist.

Burrus represents a rancid group of people that lurks in our country and has no respect for anyone or anything but themselves. The proper punishment for this miscreant would be to send him to a place where there is no freedom, so he can develop a true appreciation for what these service members died defending.
