A soldier from 1st ID, 1st Brigade, 2-34 Bravo Co, 3rd PLT REAPERS, has a Taliban sharpshooter miss him by a few inches in Kandahar Province. His response is what sets a warfighter apart from any other type of person. He just avoided death by a few inches, keeps his calm, and continues on with the fight as if nothing had happened. This occurred in 2011.
In war, you must always expect the unexpected. However, we’re all human, and being shot at by a sniper is unnerving.
This soldier wearing a helmet cam, from the 1st ID, 1st Brigade, 2-34 Bravo Co, 3rd PLT REAPERS, in Kandahar Province, was firing on Taliban forces when his life was almost taken by a sniper.
The sniper’s fire lands right in front of this soldiers feet, but instead, he brushed it off and just told everyone else to be aware of the sniper and to take cover in case more shots come in. That is about as casual it gets for a person that was nearly killed.
